Modern Day Slavery? (3)

Contemporary Slavery (Modern slavery)
Also known as institutions of slavery that are still happening in the present day. These institutions are estimated up to $35 billion dollars made. The United Nations think that around 27 to 30 million people are right now caught in the industry of slave trade. Then the 2014 Global Slavery Index comes and says that they  got data from 167 countries. Unfortunately, 35.8 million people are reportedly enslaved worldwide. 14 million of those are in India.
Both numbers are pretty high. To help you it is 1 in every 280 people.

Slavery comes in 5 most common forms:

Domestic Servitude: Working in private homes, forced to serve and not be able to leave. It is sort of like being a maid but you can't say no or you can't leave.

Sex Trafficking: Children, men and women are either forced/ held against their will and/or manipulation into the sex industry.

Forced Labour: being forced to work under the threat or actual violence, for no pay. These types of slaves are thought of as property, and are abused to make product for their "master" to sell.

Bonded Labour: Individuals are compelled to work to repay a debt. They are not allowed to leave until the debt is paid.

Child Labour: Any slavery of a child. It could be sex trafficking, domestic servitude, bonded labour or forced labour.
